The Appeal
Manufactured from 1965 to 1980 the Silver Shadow was the first Rolls-Royce to use a monocoque chassis, a response to concerns that the company was falling behind in automotive innovation. No Rolls-Royce had been produced in such high volumes to that point and the Shadow’s sales performed well the world over.
This 1976 example has been well maintained throughout its life with just two former keepers recorded. It entered a period of storage in 2016 and has recently been extensively recommissioned with a thorough mechanical overhaul and cosmetic refresh. New sills and wheel arches were fitted and the interior woodwork underwent some restoration. With an impressive history file, including 28 confirmed mileage records, this Silver Shadow will be coveted amongst Rolls-Royce enthusiasts.
