Highlights
- Rare and well specified 4.5litre SLC
- Presentable, solid car with scope to improve
- Practical and relaxing four seater GT
The Appeal
The R107 convertible tends to draw the plaudits but the less familiar SLC coupe offers the same compelling blend of quality, engineering and relaxing long distance performance wrapped in a svelte four seater body.
The SLC’s longer wheelbase made it a proper GT of the type Mercedes-Benz excels at. 1970s models got big V8s to deliver the performance these heavily engineered cars deserved.
This 4.5litre SLC is smartly finished in Grey Blue Metallic with matching interior and looks solid, presentable and very usable. There is scope to improve but as a car to love and drive this one looks tempting.
