The Appeal
The sheer ability and resulting popularity of the R107 convertible can tend to overshadow the equally good C107 SLC. Like its cousin, it is built to exacting standards, has unburstable running gear, and is both comfortable and practical.
The coupe adds space and a certain pillarless style to the R107 compelling brew. These are great cars for long distance trips, or simply enjoying one of the era’s most relaxing cruisers on weekend jaunts.
This one is finished in popular mid-metallic blue with a lovely dark blue leather interior. It is a tidy and well preserved car with the potent and highly regarded 220bhp 4.5litre M116 V8. The history file shows regular maintenance with recent attention to the fuelling system and front calipers. The last service was in December 2023 - less than 250 miles ago - and included replacement timing chain and general health check.
Although MOT exempt the car comes to market with the transparency of a recent MOT test. That runs to April 2025. A handsome and very usable example of these great touring cars.
