The Appeal
The Falcon was the brainchild of 3 ex-British Leyland engineers, who sought to produce truly unique British vehicles, with their new company JBA Engineering. The roadster, uses the engine and components from the Ford Sierra, resulting in a truly enjoyable and dependable motoring experience.
JBA Falcons are seldom seen on the roads, with very few making rare appearances at car shows and private events, making them a very rare vehicle. This particular Falcon presents a fantastic opportunity to own one of these rare beasts, in excellent condition.

This quirky kit car has been enjoyed by 9 previous owners over the years, covering just shy of 17 thousand miles in total. In addition to having covered so few miles, buyers will also be pleased to know that the vehicle is accompanied by a tremendous amount of paperwork and documentation. As pictured, the paperwork includes the original JBA documents & booklets, as well as a photo album detailing the original assembly. Also included are previous MOT certificates and invoices for parts and labour, including key items such as a set of new shock absorbers. As an added bonus, the stack of documents also contains a high valuation for the included registration plate.
The Interior
- Original finish
- Excellent condition
- Leather seats and upholstery
- Mountney wooden steering wheel
In true sporty roadster fashion, the Falcon boasts a rather purpose-built interior, with more focus on providing a raw driving experience above most else. That being said, it’s a surprisingly comfortable space once you’re settled, leaving you to enjoy the charms of the Falcon’s performance.
Despite being over forty years old, the interior is in great condition for its age, showing only the expected signs of use. As shown in the images, both leather seats do of course reflect their age and present the typical signs of wear. They are, however, still rather comfortable and hardly detract from the overall experience.
The wooden dashboard, Mountney steering wheel & gear knob all look excellent for their age and suit the classy nature of the vehicle perfectly. All dials and gauges also present themselves well and are indeed believed to be in full working order. Clean carpeting, tidy door cards and trim pieces follow suit, but would no doubt benefit from a dash of TLC.
The Exterior
- Excellent condition
- Rare Fondmetal mesh wheels
- A real head-Turner
This JBA Falcon is a unique vehicle that attracts the admiration of nearly every single pedestrian and motorist each time it ventures out. Its gorgeous sweeping body lines and Classic roadster styling truly set this vehicle apart from the crowd.
This particular example is in superb condition for its age, showing very few defects, especially when compared to modern equivalents. The paintwork presents itself beautifully with only a small handful of incredibly minor chips and marks, noticeable only upon close inspection. The paintwork is indeed believed to be the original finish, which is exceptionally likely given the low mileage and care shown to the car by previous owners.
All trim pieces, badging and chrome follow closely, presenting themselves in a condition befitting the age of the vehicle. Being a roadster, it is hardly a surprise that the soft-top roof is a key point to focus on with this vehicle. Most other examples tend to show signs of age and wear, but the roof on this Falcon is in excellent condition with no rips or tears.
The vehicle sits on a set of Fondmetal alloy wheels, complete with gold centres and matching centre caps. All four fitted wheels and the spare are in excellent condition, with no major signs of age. The wheels are wrapped in a set of Vredestein Sprint tyres, with plenty of tread left for the new owner to enjoy.

As this model of the JBA falcon utilises parts from the Ford Sierra, the roadster proves to be rather reliable and straightforward to maintain. As the included paperwork will reflect, the car certainly hasn’t required much over the years, save for consumables, and recently fitted shock absorbers.
Although the vehicle is now MOT exempt, the current owner has always ensured the vehicle is roadworthy and has had the vehicle professionally checked over on a regular basis. This JBA Falcon now presents itself with no known mechanical or electrical issues and is ready to be enjoyed in the sunshine.
