The Appeal

There aren't many vans out there that can claim to be pop-culture icons, but the Type 2 ticks that box with remarkable grace. This fabulous example, lovingly nicknamed 'Martha', is a prime case of a solid, well-maintained and well-travelled camper with its original 47-year-old interior. Sympathetic updates - most notably the much-appreciated power steering conversion - have made it an eminently more drivable machine.
