There are very good reasons why the Volkswagen Type 2 T2 has become virtually the legal definition of a motorhome. Distinctive, versatile, reliable and the epitome of carefree, the T2 is the default choice for any classic camping adventure.
This 1978 Kombi has recently undergone a complete restoration, as shown in the photographs of the work. It was completely disassembled before being painstakingly rebuilt. The work included a top-of-the-range interior with a modular cabin perfect for weekend getaways. There's even a raised roof for added practicality.
Presented in virtually 'as new' condition, this is a perfect opportunity to enjoy someone else's work and start your preparations for Summer 24.

The History and Paperwork
- The vehicle identification number (VIN) confirms that this is a factory model with the prefix "23" and the year up to "82" in 1978.
- Equipped with a 1600cc 50bhp air-cooled engine.
- The photographic record of the restoration shows the complete stripping and rebuilding of the bodywork.
- The suspension was completely rebuilt during the process.

- Technical inspection valid until 17/11/2028
The Condition
- Fully restored in an elegant blue with white roof and bumpers.
- The vehicle looks as if it has just come out of this work and has no visible marks or corrosion.
- Mounted on original steel wheels with chrome hubcaps.
- The lights and body accessories appear to be original and in good condition.
- The only problem is an incorrectly fitted chrome bezel on the passenger side headlight.

The Mechanicals
- Powered by a 1,600 cm3 flat-four Volkswagen engine
- Four-speed manual gearbox
- Rebuilt suspension, as shown in the photos
- New equipment includes a new exhaust system.
- Unfortunately, at the time of writing we have no documentation of the vehicle's service history.
- A complete mechanical overhaul was carried out in 2023, with supporting invoices. Change of front axle, complete change of braking system, new exhaust system.
