The Appeal
When you think of camper vans there is one make and model that immediately springs to mind and that is the Volkswagen Type 2. The iconic piece of German automotive design was introduced in 1967 and stayed in production until 1978.
Such was its endearing charm it earned the nickname the “Breadloaf”, thanks to its more long and rounded profile. Much like its predecessor the Type 1, the bay window Type 2 was an incredibly flexible vehicle, which made it the perfect choice for conversions. One of the most significant names associated with the Type 2 was German specialist Westfalia. The 1978 Volkswagen Type 2 on sale with Car and Classic is a genuine Westalia conversion from new and presents in very original condition.
