The Appeal
The Mk2 RS2000 was the final roll of the dice for a certain type of fast Ford - light, simple yet quick and rally-insired shell. With its iconic droop snoot and potent Pinto powerplant, these rare cars make a compelling alternative to 80s hot hatches.
This 1978 car has been in the hands of its current keeper since 1985, initially used as a daily driver and then in dry storage. It retains its raft of factory features including ‘custom’ interior and RS alloys. It is a restoration project, but a complete one with a host of upgrades including a 2.1litre motor with Stage 3 modifications and Cosworth parts. The car has covered only 2,000 miles since those improvements and is said to be in running order.
For the right buyer this is a complete project that will surely be interesting and rewarding.
