The Appeal
Surely the Holy Grail of classic motoring is to buy a vehicle where someone else has done all the hard work for you. Here is just such an opportunity.
This Type 2 was comprehensively restord 5-6 years ago, including a £2,000 engine rebuild, but has only covered 100 miles in the intervening time. Since completion it has been carefully dry stored, meaning that the condition has been preserved inside and out.
And it looks great. Finished in stand-out bronze metallic with white trim and roof outside and a two-tone leather cabin, it is ready to enjoy. There is scope to evolve the interior further - there are already cabinets and and a bed - or simply enjoy it as a family and friend-friendly van for trips to the beach.
With its powerful 2litre engine and versatile layout, this tidy Type 2 is a very practical van with a large dose of style.
