The Plus
The modest Simca 1100 had a significant impact on the motor industry. It offered thousands of families an affordable means of transport that incorporated a host of modern features, including disc brakes, transverse engines, independent suspension and rack-and-pinion steering. It is often cited as the car that tempted Volkswagen away from rear-engined, air-cooled designs, prompting the development of the Golf and Polo.
Here we have a 1977 1100 TI, in a wonderfully original and well-preserved version. The vendor acquired this first-rate example about three years ago out of nostalgia, as his father worked at the time at the Talbot factory in La Rochelle, where these cars were made. Since then, it has benefited from a great deal of mechanical maintenance and, although there are a few things left to do, it represents an excellent opportunity for anyone looking for an original and rare example.
