The Appeal
The Silver Shadow ushered in a new era for Rolls-Royce. The unibody construction wasn’t the only step change - these were cars built for owner-drivers and planned for a much wider market.
The fundamentals worked so well that they underpinned the firm’s saloons from the 1960s to 1990s. The Silver Shadow II from 1977 offered lightly modified aesthetics, most notably impact bumpers, and revised running gear to improve the ride and handling.
These cars rarely come to market in the condition and with the vanishingly low mileage of this model. Attractively finished in smoke grey metallic with blue Everflex roof and interior, it is in very good order and one of the best we have seen recently. Opulent and very usable, classic motoring doesn’t get more stately or sumptuous.
