The Appeal

With its straight-slab styling and brash - yet sophisticated - Hollywood persona, the R107 was practically created to conquer the American market - and it definitely achieved its goals. This was Mercedes-Benz' 'California' car, and continues to be prized as one of the best examples of their rock-solid engineering.

This example, originally based in the USA, was built in 1977, and still maintains its original 4.5-Litre V8 under the bonnet. The Milan Brown Metallic paintwork suits the car's lines down to the ground, while the chrome components are still casting a lovely bright contrast. The car comes complete with a small stock of paperwork and its original US title. All that's left is to register it in the EU and return it to the road.
