THE APPEAL
Following the huge success of the Mk l Capri, with a reported 1.2 million sold, the Mk ll Capri was launched in 1974. With a slightly shorter bonnet and a rear-opening hatchback, the Mk ll Capri was the first Ford to gain the hatchback-style boot. The car was available with a choice of trim and engines to suit everyone's budget and needs. You could opt for anything from 1.3, 1.6, 2.0 litre four cylinders, or 2.3, or 3.0 litre V6. This particular model is the desirable 3.0S which was one of the last models produced before the launch of the Mk lll.
The vendor has owned the car for approximately three years. In that time, he has carried out some improvements, such as a full stainless steel Janspeed exhaust system including the manifolds, a new distributor, the carbruettor has been refurbished by Carb Care and then fully setup on the car to ensure it is running just as it should. Unfortunately, with other commitments, he hasn’t had time to fully enjoy the Capri 3.0S as much as he intended, so rather than it sitting there unused, someone else can have the pleasure of this 70s classic.
