The Appeal
Marcello Gandini has quite the CV, known for penning the Miura, Stratos, and Countach for Bertone. He did an equally good job with the mid-engined, targa-topped Fiat X1/9, and we're delighted to offer this lovely early example.
One of the earliest right-hand drive UK X1/9s, this right-hand drive UK example is numbered 1234 of the launch special edition. The car has been well maintained with a significant amount of mechanical work carried out during current ownership. It's been stored in a dry garage for the past 7 years, ensuring it's very well-preserved and ready to be enjoyed.
History and Paperwork
- Built in 1977
- Owned for the past seven years, purchased in March 2016

- 104,122 miles (odometer on its second revolution)
- Last serviced in 2022 by the owner
- Some receipts are available as is a service book although it holds no entries

The Condition
- Resprayed in 2019
- The engine lid and bumpers were not refinished, retaining some patina to match the interior
- Special series interior with deck chair striped seats
- Rare instrument binnacle with extra yellow lines
- Blue door cards, gear lever gaiter, and handbrake cover
- Small blemishes visible on the offside sill and lower edge of the driver's door
- A five-millimetre paint chip can be found on the passenger side door shut
- A few small dents are present commensurate with age, but certianly nothing major
- The stripes on the seat upholstery are still bright
- All the black carpet looks in really good condition
- The brown dashboard exhibits slight damage under passenger side from a previous radio installation
- Uno Turbo thirteen-inch wheels fitted - (thirteen-inch magnesium Cromodora CD11 wheels included)
- NOS Carello Luxor driving lamps with original boxes - (original Carello lamps included but damaged)
The Mechanics
