The Appeal
The joy of a classic Beetle is that it is all things. Durable daily driver, practical wagon for family and friends and potential classic show star.
This stand-out Lofoten Green 1200L would do every one of those things brilliantly. It is a deluxe L model with a lovely Cognac leatherette interior and the only remaining one from its year still on the road. The condition is impressive, testament to its handful of keepers over its 48 years. This is a Bug that is ready to go. It has covered a documented 68,422 miles from new.
It is pleasingly original - right down to the period radio - and in very good order. The only obvious deviation from standard is a welcome one - a hidden, modern Bluetooth stereo with speakers and a powered Alpine subwoofer to provide a great soundtrack to its characterful journeys.
Low-owner, low mileage factory-correct Beetles are like the Holy Grail. This car has been loved and looked after all its life and it shows. Grab a fantastic collector's car while you can, they are only going one way in this condition!
There is a genuine reason for sale due to house renovations and extension and the new owners and his family will be very sad to see this Bug go. Like the previous family before them, it has become a big part of their family life. With the children even helping with some of the minor restoration and servicing that has been carried out over the last few years. Due to this, the mileage may increase slightly as they enjoy it a couple more times.
