The Appeal
Introduced in 1962, and quickly becoming one of the most iconic British roadsters in history, the Triumph Spitfire is a curvy, characterful sports car that was intended to see off competition from the Austin-Healey Sprite. Lightweight and perky, these roadsters saw plenty of success on the rally circuit, the SCCA and in the motoring public’s hearts.
With its Michelotti bodywork, capable I4 powerplants and top-notch handling, these speedsters are a simply legendary classic, and one that demands attention out on the road.
This example - which has only had three owners from new - has been beautifully restomodded, with over $45,000 spent between 2013 and 2017 to create a unique, top-notch motor that’s bound to win over even the dedicated purists. This Spitfire is just about the most impressive example out there - better than new, fully rebuilt, exceptionally retrimmed and clearly cossetted, you won’t see another example like this one. It’s as close to perfect as it gets.
