The Appeal
The Silver Shadow was a very new type of Rolls Royce and one that proved so good its fundamentals underpinned the firm’s cars for several decades. Built around a modern monocoque and designed for the new breed of ‘owner drivers’ it also stuck true to the sumptuous specification of its forebears.
First generation cars retained the chrome bumpers and neat detailing that enthusiasts revere. This 1976 example is one of the last of those, attractively finished in bronze metallic with a caramel interior. It looks presentable but there is scope to investment and improve. This looks like a good, usable car and a good basis for an even better one.
