THE APPEAL

Beauford is a British, family run automotive company that specialise in creating kit cars. The Beauford Tourer is one of many vehicles the company produced and was designed to look like a vintage car from the early 1900s. It’s distinguishable with its long bonnet and flowing wings that carry a spare wheel either side.
Due to the classic look the Beauford offers, they have rocketed in popularity as the perfect vehicle for weddings and special occasions.

THE HISTORY AND PAPERWORK

  • Registered in 1976.
  • Genuine 8692 miles.
  • V5C present.
  • Lots of receipts and invoices that document previous work completed.
  • We are told the vehicle has undergone a full service carried out not long ago.
  • A variety of new parts including the water pump has been changed to ensure the vehicle is at its best.

THE INTERIOR

  • Very well presented interior cabin.
  • The front and rear seats are presented in fantastic condition, with no obvious signs of wear on either front chairs or the rear bench.
  • The roof lining is in excellent condition, with no rips or tears.
  • Steering wheel is excellent for it’s age, with the chrome centre looking rather lustrous.
  • The leather surrounding the steering wheel is also in great condition and showing no signs that we noticed of degrading.
  • The wood veneer trim looks great against the red leather and contrast beautifully.
  • The door cards, carpets and dash are in pristine condition and show no obvious signs of wear or cracks.
  • As far as we are aware, the electronics within the vehicle are said to function as they are intended to do.
  • This extends to the gauges that are visible on the dashboard.

THE EXTERIOR

  • Olde English White metallic paintwork looks marvellous especially in the sun.
  • There are a few blemishes to note on the vehicle.
  • The model designation badge looks great with no obvious signs of corrosion.
  • All the panels around the car are straight and show no signs of dents or carpark dings.
  • The dished wheels look in good condition with no signs of curbing or corrosion.
  • The underside of the vehicle shows no signs of corrosion that we noticed.
  • The lenses on the lights all look in good condition and work as they should do.
  • The light lenses on the side or the vehicle have started to haze.
  • The convertible roof, externally is in great shape and is holding up well for its age. It goes up and down without any fuss.
  • Vinyl windows at the rear are still clear and show no signs of cracking or going yellow from sun damage.
  • No damage that we could see to the exterior of the fabric roof.
  • The passenger side window frame is missing some paintwork.
  • Leather luggage holder on the rear of the vehicle looks great and adds a lot of character.
  • Chromework around the vehicle is in great shape.

THE MECHANICS

  • Perky 2000cc Pinto engine idles beautifully with no blue or white smoke or unwanted noises, that we could tell.
  • On the road, the Beauford drives well with no unwanted noises or sounds coming from the engine, brakes or suspension components.
  • The manual gearbox works as it should do. Gear changes are smooth with no crunching or grinding when changing gear.
  • The engine bay is presented well.
  • The car is reported to drive as it should do with no known or apparent faults.
  • We are told the vehicle has undergone recent work to replace or update various components including:
  • Full engine service including spark plugs.
  • New water pump with the timing being done at the same time.
  • New thermostat and temperature sensor.
  • New header tank and hose.
  • The vehicle has been fitted with an upgraded electric fan to ensure there are no issues with overheating.

SUMMARY

This 1930s style Beauford rocks a timeless classic look. This particular example has been well kept, with only minor bodywork imperfections to mention.

Mechanically speaking, the car has been looked after to ensure that it will continue to carry its occupants to their special day without fault or hesitation.
