1975 Volkswagen Type 2 (T2) Double Cab Pick-Up

Vendor supplied images

Highlights

  • Very rare and standard ‘DOKA’ double cab pick-up
  • Recently imported from Germany and now UK registered
  • Factory build certificate and UK Club confirmation certificate
  • New rear hood and refurbished interior
  • Correct 1,600cc engine and 4-speed manual gearbox
  • Interesting project for refurbishment that starts and runs

The Appeal

We’re so used to seeing pretty Type 2 campers that it is easy to forget that the factory was focussed on creating a working vehicle. Like this ultra rare ‘Dubbelkabin’ DOKA double cab pick up.
It is equally pretty and very unusual, with obvious scope to use as a practical classic or distinctive five-seat load lugger for a small business.
Factory and Club certification confirm that this one was built in 1975. It arrived here in June and looks very smart in ‘gelato’ green with white top. The matching mint green seats are in good condition as is the headlining and rear hood.
The vendor tells us that it starts and runs—it retains its 1,600cc air-cooled engine—but it is sold as a restoration project. The mechanicals are said to be in good order, but the chassis will require some attention. Once done, this lovely van has lots of potential.
