The Appeal
The Triumph Stag was adored by many, with over 25,000 being produced, it was Triumph's contribution to the popular sports tourer section throughout the 70's. Triumph wanted to stand out from their competitors by making use of their new 3 litre V8, this powerplant gave for a lovely sound and smooth power delivery.
The styling was carried out by none other than Giovanni Michelotti and was a favourite not only amongst Stag owners but also within Triumph. The MK 2 Stag, although never officially acknowledged as a new mark by Triumph, gave for refined styling and interior features but more importantly a higher-pressure cooling system. The MK 2 version was released in 1973 and is often more desirable thanks to its further refinement and styling tweaks.
