  • Partially assembled RHD chassis

The Appeal

We mustn't forget that the recent media storm around Jaguar's controversial rebrand is not the first time the marque has re-invented itself. After all, Jaguar began life as Swallow Sidecars, badging its cars SS, a name that would not age well following the seismic events of the 1940s...

The SS Jaguar 100 was the firm's last and most advanced pre-war sports car, and for reasons alluded to above, the last to bear the SS moniker. To this day, the SS 100 is considered to be among the most handsome sporting motor cars of the 1930s and their rarity and desirability makes them almost unattainable. Until now...

Car & Classic is offering a unique opportunity to complete what may be the last ever Suffolk SS100, a kit car that pays homage to the original with modern engineering. The builder, a founder of the Suffolk Sports Cars Owners and Builders group, envisioned this as a one-of-a-kind SS100 Sport, but it can also be completed as a standard SS100.

With all principal items either new or reconditioned, and the inclusion of all necessary components for IVA compliance, this project is a rare chance for an enthusiast to create something bespoke, beautiful and brilliantly engineered.
