The Background:
This compact and much loved sports car is an affordable way to get in to the British classic sports car market, perfect for those Summer road trips it will always put a smile on your face with its compactness, drivability and iconic status.
The History:
This car has been owned by the seller since 2005 and in that time covered only 5500 miles, only ever taken out on a dry and sunny day it has had servicing done yearly and paperwork backs up the care and love the owner has had for the car. They are selling due to lack of space and it is a reluctant sale.
The Paperwork:
The car has extensive history from the current owner since 2005 with MOTs, receipts and photos to back this up. Their is also some paperwork prior to the current ownership. From 2005 the car has had extensive checks and anything the owner needed to change or update has been seen to
The Interior:
Interior is in good condition throughout, seats are well presented and just some slight scuffs which are to be expected on a car that is over forty years old. Their is no radio in the car, this was taken out as the owner felt that the modern unit didn’t fit well with the car, and for open top motoring the engine noise was enough to keep him entertained. Due to this there are some screw holes which can be seen in the photos.
The Exterior:
The solid black paintwork is in good order and has no signs of any rust or paint required. The cars original colour was Mustard Yellow, the current owner purchased it with the new colour and in his words it has been done to a very high standard with no signs of the original colour showing anywhere on the bodywork.
New tyres were fitted early on and with only 5500 miles on them are still in good condition.
The Mechanics:
During ownership the petrol pump, carburettor and head gasket have been replaced, also a new exhaust was fitted and all the above have receipts to provide authentication.
A common fault has also been rectified with new kingpins on the axle to make it a smoother ride. Just to show the attention to detail new MG Midget logos have been fitted as well.
The Appeal:
This car stands out due to its polished black paint work, most MG Midgets tend to be in the popular BRG or red exterior finish so a sure way to stand out in this particular car. These cars have always been a drivers car and also a part of the family, compact, nippy and easy for anyone to drive enjoy for a weekend blast in the countryside. Now we are heading in to the Summer this car will be the perfect addition to the garage with all the thrills you could ask for and lovingly cared for by the previous owner it will be ready to drive from purchase down those British B roads.
