The Appeal

One of the most iconic and esteemed of Mercedes-Benz' repertoire, the R107 was practically purpose-built to seduce the well-to-do on the sunny West Coast of the USA. With its impressive proportions, comfortable cabin and distinctive boxy styling, it really did feel like a decidedly American take on the classic European roadster, and is now considered by many enthusiasts to be the ultimate rendition of it.

This '75 example boasts a rare Maple Yellow livery (paint code 606G), its USA title and a matching-numbers 4.5-litre V8 under the bonnet. It's had all of its duties and VAT paid since arrival in Europe, and now merely needs to be registered, inspected, and taken back out on the open road.
