The Attractions
While manufacturers such as Lamborghini had hitherto dedicated themselves to producing cars for the thriving GT segment, in the early 1970s, luxury car manufacturers began to take an interest in smaller sports cars. To compete with the Ferrari 246 Dino, the Maserati Merak and the Porsche 911, Ferruccio Lamborghini shifted his focus from V12 engines to a new range of V8-powered cars.
Designed by the late, great Marcello Gandini, the Urraco debuted at the Turin Motor Show in 1970 and in 1972 the first cars began to be delivered to customers. With a V8 engine mounted transversely behind the cockpit, the Urraco had two more cylinders than most of its mid-engined rivals, yet still offered a well-balanced chassis.
This 1975 Lamborghini Urraco P250 with serial numbers and colours matching the original specification has received a complete restoration and recent service. The seller reports that it runs perfectly and is very pleasant to drive and ready to go. The car is registered with the ASI and comes with its 'Certificate of Historical Significance'.
Only 791 Urracos were built, so don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity to make this truly excellent example your own.
