The Appeal

For a nation not slow at coming up with extended names for its luxury cars, the Buick Estate Wagon was simply badged. But there was and is nothing understated about this 6m long, 2m wide seven seater.
Then there is that tailgate, evocatively-named the ‘Glide-Away,’ because that is exactly what it does.  The top and bottom halves disappear seamlessly and invisibly into the car.
Powered by a mammoth 7.5llitre 455CI V8s, these vast cars were the kings of the interstate in the 1970s. Which may explain why the first keeper of this one was a state trooper. It spent its life in the dry climes of Florida before arriving here in 2017 where it has remained with the current keeper ever since.
He has used it regularly and maintained it very well. You’ll find a long list of maintenance below and in the photographs.  It includes servicing plus attention to the cooling and brake systems, tailgate mechanism, fuelling, and suspension. This Estate Wagon is registered as a Historic Vehicle - so tax, MOT and ULEZ exempt - but carries a voluntary advisory-free MOT to March 2025 for buyer reassurance.
Just two of these remarkable estates are believed to exist in the UK. Slices of classic Americana don’t get much bigger than this one so don’t miss it.
