Highlights
- Well preserved original Westfalia camping interior
- Desirable 2.0-litre ‘pancake’ engine
- A very usable example with scope to improve over time
The Appeal
Westfalia was the first and official converter of Volkswagen Type 2 vans, and its campers are the crème de la crème of classic VW camper vans. With their trademark tartan fabrics and versatile elevating roofs, well-preserved original examples are coveted the world over. This 1974 example is just that - a commendably original, highly usable example of a Westfalia-converted ‘Bay Window’ in US market specification.
UK road registered since November 2007, we understand that the van was owned by a friend of the vendor who has since sadly passed away. In current ownership since 2019, it has covered very few miles during the last five years and the owner has decided it’s now time for the van to find a new home.
All too often, these vans lose their original interiors, so this is a great opportunity for Westfalia enthusiasts looking for a light winter project.
