The Appeal
As well as developing the Karmann Ghia - a coachbuilt two-door car based on Volkswagen’s Type 1 floor pan, German Karosseria Karmann also devised convertible versions of the regular Beetle. These conversions were sanctioned by VW themselves, such was their quality, and the open-topped Beetles proved a great hit.
We’re delighted to offer this beautifully restored example - a range-topping 1303 LS with a twin-port 1.6-litre engine and one of the last right-hand drive Karmann Cabriolets. It has been restored to a very good standard and dry-stored by the previous keeper and current owner throughout their custodianship. The car has recently undergone a service with an air-cooled VW specialist and looks to be in superb overall condition ready for its next keeper. There’s a raft of paperwork present, including a glowing inspection report from an independent expert.
Such fine Karmann Cabriolets as this rarely come to market.
