The Appeal
While its competitors dallied with modern construction techniques, when it came to updating the venerable TR, Triumph stuck to what it knew. With lightly updated bodywork by Karmann, the TR6s gave customers a simple yet visceral sports car with direct connection between driver inputs and what happened at the wheels.
The beefy 2.5litre straight six engine was available with fuel injection for the UK or two states of carburettor tune for the USA. Most cars went to America, many of which have gradually been repatriated to Europe as demand for these quintessentially British sports cars sees no sign of abating.
This Carmine ‘74 TR6 is tempting standard, right down to those lovely deep dish steel wheels. With significant investment by the seller since he acquired it in 2019 it represents a great opportunity to discover one of these rewarding convertibles and build on the work already done.

Summary
The TR6 was the final iteration of a long line of separate chassis TR models that evolved according to simple principle: to provide engaging, entertaining motoring for true drivers.
The continuing demand to repatriate US models proves the enduring popularity of that idea. This smart Carmine TR6 is a chance to acquire a usable car that looks solid in all the right places and has been extensively improved by the seller.
