The Appeal
Sharp-featured, with a chiselled jawline fitting for the Hollywood elite who picked it up in droves, the TR6 was a huge hit from the moment it rolled off of the production line. It's perhaps the most potent and drivable example of the Triumph thoroughbreds, and easily one of the most nimble. A rather eye-catching finale to the last of a very British specialty for small, nimble top-down British sports cars.
This fine example of the TR6 has proven very popular with the vendor's dealership as a clean, straight and potent example. Accompanied by a very comprehensive service history, converted to twin SU carbs and boasting a recent gearbox rebuild, we've no doubt this will prove a fabulous classic for the lucky new owner.
The vendor says:
"This TR6 was traded in with us, and although not our normal stock, it is so nice that we thought it should find an appreciative new home. It is just the sort of thing I have seen cruising through France every summer, and no doubt, with a UK sticker, you could, too. What we like is that its clearly been enjoyed regularly and has received appropriate, timely and continuous maintenance since its Revington TR rebuild in the early 90’s."

The Condition
This TR6 is quite obviously benefitted from caring ownership and presents very well indeed. The resoration in the early 90's was by a Maque specialist and history suggests was extensive. But since then this TR has continuous records of great care and little use. We see nothing significant 'to do' and have inspected the underside (see pics) which is waxoyled, therefore attracting dirt but replling the elements. The car performs exactly as expected, sweet six sounds and brisk performance. We like it.
- Rebuilt in the early 90s by respected marque specialists, and remaining in fine condition
- Bodywork presents well with good alignment and panel gaps for a TR.
- Original shade of Old English white with deep shine, with only some minor bubbles in a small area on the bottom edge of the passenger door
- Minimal scuffs or marks from use.
- Refurbished hood frame with a new black mohair hood fitted in 2020
- Wheels look in good order
- Underside is clean and waxoyled following restoration.
- Interior is in very good order.
