1974 Triumph Stag Convertible

Highlights

  • Older restoration in fetching silver colour
  • Engine, gearbox, and rear differential rebuilt
  • Thick history file with over 50 invoices
  • Polybushed, Brembo brakes and new Weber carburettor
  • Manual gearbox with overdrive

The Appeal

The Stag has the name, the burble, the svelte Italian lines and the practical, wood-lined cabin. There are other 70s GTs - most notably a certain car from Germany - but none quite have the character of Britain’s home-grown boulevardier.
Compared to its rival, the Stag is a rarity. Buyers tend to love them and keep them, for obvious reasons. This one has been cherished and is a very usable example of the later Mk2 with its revised styling and pretty alloys.
It is an older restoration in fetching silver that remains well presented. There is a matching hard top and well presented black and wood veneer cabin. Alongside the desirable manual box it benefits from a raft of mechanical improvements including polybushed suspension, new Weber carburettor, a header tank to improve cooling and rebuilt engine, differential and gearbox. There are also Brembo brakes to improve the stopping power.
With over 50 invoices in the history file, this car has clearly been maintained well. In good running order and nicely presentable, it looks ready for summer.
