1974 Suzuki GT 750L

Highlights

  • Less than 11,000 miles from new
  • Outstanding condition throughout
  • Mechanically perfect thanks to a comprehensive schedule of maintenance

The Appeal

This is an especially fine example of a low-mileage and beautiful classic Suzuki motorcycle.

The overall condition cannot be faulted with immaculate paintwork, brightwork and accessories.
Mechanically in perfect order, the winning bidder will not be disappointed with a bike that has clearly been meticulously cared for having been through light but thorough restoration.

The History and Paperwork

  • Imported to the UK by Motorcycle Emporium in 2013
  • The vendor acquired the bike from its first UK owner, who was a classic motorcycle enthusiast who had two GT 750Ls at the time
  • Cosmetic refresh since import includes a replacement seat cover and paintwork in period-correct Suzuki orange flake
  • Extensive and meticulous mechanical work carried out by specialists to ensure it runs and rides perfectly
  • V5C log book in owner’s name present
Having decided it is time to reduce the number of classic motorcycles in his extensive collection, the vendor has reluctantly chosen to offer this delightful GT 750L for sale after seven enjoyable years of ownership.

The Exterior

  • Originally flake blue, the bike was professionally resprayed in flake orange (a period-correct Suzuki colour) by Dream Machine in Nottingham, who are Motorcycle paintwork specialists
  • Seat recovered with a correct ‘L’ seat by Motorcycle Seat Works
  • Original instruments were restored by The Clock Dock and are now immaculate
  • Upper pipes, front and rear mudguards, rear light assembly, airbox covers and headlamp rim were all re-chromed and are stunning
  • New left and right-hand Suzuki NOS bar grips and throttle tube fitted
This classic Suzuki GT is in spectacular visual condition with no chips, marks or scratches to be found anywhere on the bike.

The vendor describes it as 10/10 concourse condition owing to its respray, re-chroming and other cosmetic work, all of which was completed to an extraordinarily high standard.

The Mechanics

  • Mechanically perfect with no known faults, the bike starts on the button and sounds fantastic
  • It is said to ride beautifully with the engine opening up nicely through the rev range, changing gears exactly as it should
  • Carburettors were fully stripped and rebuilt by Barry Wilkes “Blue Smoke Baz”, a classic Suzuki motorcycle restoration specialist well known to the ‘Kettle’ community
  • Forks have been stripped and serviced, with new oil seals and circlips fitted
  • Brakes operate correctly thanks to a NOS master cylinder repair kit, reservoir, diaphragm, caliper seals, pistons and brake pads
  • Avon Roadrider tyres, tubes and tape fitted
  • Motobatt fitted
  • Correct specification DID chain has been fitted
The GT is in overall perfect mechanical condition with the engine, brakes and suspension components all having received specialist mechanical attention.

All work has seemingly been completed to the highest standards.

Summary

This is a special example of a low mileage, immaculate condition and sought-after classic Suzuki motorcycle.
