The Appeal
If we had a time machine, this is where's we'd be going: Culver City, California, 1974. Specifically, in the Playa Street Porsche showroom, sat opposite a salesperson, noting down the optional extras on our brand-new 911. Sadly, no such machine is yet to exist, so we're delighted to offer the next best thing - the 1974 911 any discerning driving enthusiast would order.
This 1974 Carrera 2.7 S boasts an enviable dealer specification. Beyond the 'Chocolate Brown' paintwork and Fuchs alloys, cost options included a five-speed manual gearbox, 'duck tail' spoiler, Limited-slip differential, leather upholstery, chrome trim, Bilstein shocks, tinted glass and a front oil cooler.
As the photographs attest, this Porsche is an utterly superb example of the marque. Now in Spain, it comes with over €20,000 in invoices, many of which relate to a full engine rebuild by Porsche, Barcelona.
With a historic Spanish registration and a recent service at an official Porsche dealer, this fine car is ready to be enjoyed.IMG_6831 3.JPG5.57 MB
The History and Paperwork

First of the G Series 911s
Historic Spanish registration
ITV (vehicle inspection) valid
Engine rebuilt at Porsche Barcelona with over €20,000 in invoices
Rare dealer-fit 'duck tail' spoiler, reminiscent of RS models
Original 'Chocolate Brown', recently repainted, in good condition with minor signs of age
Originally specified with Carrera vinyls, not replicated since respray
Quad spot lamps fitted
(Optional) chrome in very good original condition
Interior in very good condition, with original seats and well-cared-for carpet both in great shape for their age
The headlining appears like new
Air conditioning and all electronic components, including lights and windscreen wipers, in working order
Colours don't come much more '70s than brown, especially this shade, which contrasts beautifully with the gold Fuchs alloys and chrome trim. The bodywork looks to be immensely straight and solid; the doors fit well, and the vendor doesn't inform us of any known corrosion. On the inside, all looks similarly well-kept, with no heavy wear apparent to the upholstery, switchgear and controls besides the gentlest signs of use. The carpets are protected with period overmats, while the headlining looks clean and correctly supported. We understand all cabin electrics to be in good working order
The timing belt and water pump were recently changed
Underside in smart condition, reportedly original and never welded, with no rust or damage to note
Impeccably presented engine compartment
The original purchaser of this Porsche clearly loved driving. They didn't buy this car just to pose in, as expensive options included hidden enhancements Bilstein dampers, a limited-slip differential, a front oil cooler and a five-speed manual gearbox. The vendor offers this car freshly serviced by a Porsche dealer. So, as you would expect, it is said to be running and driving beautifully, ready to go to its new home.
