The Appeal
It's hard to say if Issigonis's compact car was ever intended to become a legendary, culture-defining car. Squat, nippy and eminently usable, it was as close to a perfect zeitgeist as you could get for the age of Cool Britannia. It quickly became one of the most legendary cars in history - and many retro examples are being rediscovered nestled inside barns and sheds, ripe for restoration.
This 1974 example has recently completed a five year restoration, which has involved everything from a bare-metal respray to a full retrim and extensive mechanical rebuild. The result is an excellent, low-mileage car that's lived very little in its respectable years, presented in a striking, fun livery that's bound to turn plenty of heads.
