THE APPEAL
Arriving on the motoring scene in 1962, the MG B was the fist Monocoque sports car to roll out of the Abingdon factory. It soon became one of Britain’s best selling and most loved sports tourers with more than half a million being made during it’s 18-year production run.
You can’t beat the look of a British Racing Green MG B with wire wheels. Sure to attract attention wherever it goes, the bodywork and interior remain in great condition, and judging by the paper history, the mechanicals also appear to have been well looked after.
Restored in the past, the owner purchased this delightful roadster from MG specialists Minchins Classics, West Sussex, eight years ago, and has enjoyed driving his ‘Sunday’ classic to local car shows, covering around 1,500 miles. A new classic may be on the horizon, hence the sale.

Looking at the accompanying Heritage Certificate we can see that this home market MG B was built in January 1973 and left the Abingdon factory painted in Harvest Gold with Navy trim, overdrive and Rostyle wheels. It was despatched to Appleyards Limited, in Yorkshire where it was first registered as RWX 518M.
Invoices from Moss Bristol during 2013/14 suggest a previous owner undertook a sizeable degree of maintenance and improvement work. There is no clear evidence of when the body was restored, however, it still looks fresh today.
The mileage is unconfirmed, but the neatly filed old MOT’s do indicate a consistently low mileage on what is believed to be the original engine.
