The Attractions
In its day, it was easy to come across the original Ford 'world car' on European roads, for a number of good reasons: it combined fashionable styling heavily influenced by American cars with good equipment and robust mechanics.
This 1974 example is the top-of-the-range 'GXL' version, with the reliable 1.6L Pinto engine. It is a really interesting find: a low-mileage car that has had only one owner and has been remarkably well preserved for 51 years. Aesthetically it could be improved further, but it is a solid car.
It is increasingly difficult to find original Taunus TCs like this one. Thanks to its documented history and its solidity and originality, it seems the perfect example to drive and improve over time.
