The Appeal

Developed on the back of BMW's New Class - which is often credited with saving the company - the 02 Class was effectively a shorter, sportier iteration of the car for a younger audience. It was an immediate hit - with a variety of engine sizes available, but the 2002 is what really eked out a new market position for BMW. Suddenly, the company were the masters of affordable performance cars.

In that regard, the 2002 could be regarded as one of the most important cars in the company's entire repertoire.
