The Appeal

The Guilia GTV was a real force to be reckoned with. Strong performance, agile handling, and a dedication to practicality made these pretty Italian coupes one of the stars of the Italian market, and nowadays it may well be one of the most prized Alfas ever built. There's a real Continental elegance to them, something that continued straight down to the ever-prized twin-cam under the bonnet.

If there was any GTV to favour - and they're all more than worth your time - the 2000 GTV is the one to pick. Offering 132hp, it kept the car's essential character the same while offering a more formidable performance for the developing Autostrada system, and nowadays still offers quite the exciting turn of speed.

This particular example has been with the current keeper for over thirty years, and has been beautifully cared for. Believed to be one of the final right-hand drive examples built in Italy, the vendor has largely used it for car club events in recent years. These cars are one of those ever-enduring classics that demand attention, and we're sure this example will get plenty of it on auction.

The Condition

  • Apart from the reskinning of the nearside door in 2022, the paintwork is as it was following the 1993 respray
  • However, some areas of deterioration have set in over time, such as on the offside scuttle and under the offside rear window
  • There is a ding on the boot lid and nearside door, but the paint is intact
  • New tyres fitted in 2021
  • Boot and cabin floor are solid
  • Original cloth seats show normal wear but have no tears
  • New carpets were fitted in 1993
  • Voltmeter fitted
  • All electrics, including the heated rear window and instruments, are in working order
  • The car originally had factory-fitted air conditioning, which was removed in 1993, so the battery is located in the boot
