The Appeal
Triumph, the legendary British automaker dominated the industry in the 1970s with their offerings providing a great all round performance package without the astronomical price tag of a prestige brand. Often referred to as the “baby E-Type” the Triumph GT6 was perhaps one of their most significant models of the era. Based on the marque’s well established Spitfire platform, with a six cylinder engine residing at the front, charming Michelotti exterior styling and lightweight construction, it was so quintessentially Triumph and a wonderful example of the British sports car industry in its heyday.
This 1973 MK3 GT6 is a wonderful illustration of the revered model. Comprehensively restored in the 1990s and well preserved ever since, it stands today certainly as one of the finer examples available on the market today and presents buyers with a wonderful alternative to the bigger and more pricey TR4 and Stag alternatives, without compromising on that characteristic Triumph performance and desirability.
