The Appeal
The Triumph 2500 is proof that not every home grown 70s motor was a dud. Here was a Italianate sporting saloon that was as good as anything from BMW, but with an extra dash of wood-trimmed style.
The 2500 borrowed the torquey motor from the TR6 to deliver proper executive express performance. There were TC and PI versions with twin carburettors or new fangled petrol injection.
This lovely Mk2 2500 began life as a fuel injected PI but has been converted to the more reliable TC fuel delivery system. In really great condition inside and out - the interior is a particular delight - it presents as a low mileage car in pleasingly original condition. For that we can thank its mere four keepers from new.
The car has recently been released from long term storage so may require some light recommissioning. Once done you get a very usable and stylish rarity and arguably one of the best British saloons of the last 60 years.
