The Attractions

The most valuable things are often found in the smallest boxes. This also applies to the various Rallye versions of the small rear-engined Simca 1000. These light and agile sports cars have proved so capable in track and hillclimb racing that many have gone straight from the showroom to the track.

Including this one. First registered in February 1973 in Rome as Rallye 2 with an engine of 1,294 cm³ with 80 hp, it almost immediately began competing in the Simca one-make championship, achieving its first victories. In the years that followed, it was thoroughly updated to Rallye 3 and later specifications, turning it into a winning racing car with great potential. Major improvements include 40mm Weber carburettors - just like the Rallye 3 - and a machined cylinder head with modified valves and seats.

Currently part of a collection of historic racing cars, it is rarely driven but has homologation and certification for historic racing. The most recent maintenance work includes a new timing belt pulley, water pump, oil cooler and electric fuel pump, all high-quality components.

Started and driven regularly, it has been described to us as very reliable. This Rallye 2 with extremely low mileage also comes with a Technical Inspection Certificate valid until May 2026. This small racing car represents a very attractive opportunity indeed.
