The Appeal

With its origins in aircraft manufacturing, Saab's cars were heavily influenced by aeronautical engineering. The 96 was launched in 1960 and really stood out from its compact car competitors with its streamlined styling. Thanks to front-wheel-drive, the 96 excelled on the rally stage with the likes of Eric "on the roof" Karlson.

This 1973 example is remarkably original and wears a delightful patina commensurate with age. The Saab's history is well-documented, with a comprehensive service record from the last five years and a collection of photos spanning the past decade.

Having successfully completed a 2,500-mile European drive last year, this Saab 96 has proven its reliability and capability on long journeys. Additionally, the car comes with a treasure trove of spare parts,  including two engines and a gearbox.

We love to see classic cars getting used. None of them like to languish in garages. This Saab is supremely usable and would be a great road trip companion for the next owner.
