Peugeot’s J7 was the firm’s Volkswagen T2, a versatile ‘forward cab’ design whose presence instantly telegraphs all things French.
Of the many uses these vans have been pressed into, campers is one of the less common. And yet, as this one shows, it definitely works, giving the buyer a distinctive and unusual alternative to more common classic camping companions.
This one has been restored over the last three years, the work including bodywork refurbishment and repainted in fetching mid blue with white wheel and bumper accents. There is also a versatile and attractively trimmed cabin, which was refurbished at the same time. Since arriving in the UK this May it has been subject to an extensive mechanical check over, service and fettling.
With its practical high top and economical 1.9L diesel engine, this is a pretty and stylish way to make a family getaway. Don’t let this camping getaway, getaway!
