1973 MGB GT V8

Highlights

  • Older photographic restoration with sparing use since
  • Very presentable car with light patina of age
  • One of only 2,591 factory V8s
  • Thick history file with lots of MOTs to verify mileage
  • MOT and Tax exempt

The Appeal

Such was the demand for standard MGBs that it took the firm over a decade to finally turn the BGT into the mini E-Type that it had always threatened to be. They had tried this before with the MGC, but dropping in the lighter, lustier Rover V8 was an altogether more successful venture.
Despite that, just 2,591 V8-equipped BGTs left the factory before British Leyland rationalisation killed this most capable of coupes. Enthusiasts now seek these cars out because of their blend of burbling V8 and the familiar, compelling BGT qualities.
This Glacier White ’73 BGT V8 is an older restoration that has been well cared for since and sparingly maintained. With little use in recent years it presents a solid, very usable way into these great sports cars.
