The Appeal
It is no over-statement to say that the Z1 changed the motorbike landscape. One of the first inline 4cyl Japanese bikes, its combination of performance and agility shook up a market more used to heavy, lumbering British and American performance bikes.
Revered by classic bike enthusiasts as not just one of Kawasaki’s best-ever models but arguably one of the greatest superbikes of all time, good Z1s are highly sought after, especially in their first year production form.
This is certainly one of them. In superb condition and lavished with investment in recent years by its enthusiast owner, originally supplied in the USA the bike has been in the UK since 1989. Its matching numbers are authenticated by two independent authorities on these classic bikes. The Z1 is a truly great bike and this is a genuinely great example.
