The Appeal

Those Norton and Triumph owners who elected to trade their steeds in for one of Kawasaki’s new H2s were in for a surprise. Likely there was a queue, because it was the fastest accelerating bike in production at the time.
Perhaps they anticipated the power. They certainly didn’t expect just how that power would be delivered: namely viciously. Wheelies were the name of the day, whether you were in first or second gear. All of this earned the H2 a devilish reputation that makes those early bikes highly sought after by collectors.
Registered in the second year of H2 production, this magnificent example must be one of the very best available - or remaining. It is the result of a meticulous four-year, no-expense-spared restoration by the seller, who describes it as a ‘nut and bolt’ process. Looking at the photos of what is essentially a brand new bike, we’d have to concur. The work covered all areas and prioritised new old stock originality wherever possible. The engine has been rebuilt by a triples specialist and is so fresh it still needs commissioning.
Resplendent in desirable period correct 3 stage candy gold, it was deliberately built with high-end collectors in mind. It has not yet been UK registered, but this would be a straightforward process that the vendor has offered to assist with.
Whether you decide to add this to your collection or hit the road and enjoy some wheelies, this bike looks very tempting.
