Highlights
- Although manufactured in 1974 this is a 1973 model H1D. It has the 1973 paintwork, H2 electronic ignition fixed footrests and non-rubber mounted motor, unlike the 1974 H1E. Much more desirable and rarer than the E
- Highly original, even retaining some of its factory paintwork in the iconic H1D green livery
- Motor stripped for inspection and reassembled in 2018 - with no road miles covered since
The Appeal
By the time Kawasaki released the H1 in 1969, it was clear the days of the four-stroke British twins were well and truly over. With a 500 cc three-cylinder two-stroke engine, it became one of the fastest bikes in the world and remained in production for six years.
We're delighted to present one such example, imported from Italy in 1983 with approximately 13,000 kilometres on the odometer, It has since recorded 1,123 miles on a replacement (MPH) unit since a new speedometer was installed.
Its engine was stripped for inspection/reassembled in 2018 and the vendor reports that it runs very well indeed, although hasn't hit the road since then.
The bike continues to boast some factory paintwork and a very original example, perfect for collectors seeking an authentic '74 MY H1D.
