The Appeal
The Jensen-Healey is one of those classic cars that is brilliant yet flies well under the radar.
It was engineered with input from Donald Healey, built by the people behind the Jensen Interceptor and powered by a Lotus Type 907 144bhp engine. That was the first mass-produced multi-valve engine in the world. These are good reasons to want one, particularly when your alternatives are more common-garden classics like MGBs and Triumph Stags.
Any surviving car has had the early problems ironed out, so buyers get a rare British classic convertible with a peach of an engine. This car is number 601 of the production run, a very early Mk1 that retains its factory features. Smartly finished in white with a matching roof and contrasting black interior, it is a very tidy car with a long, advisory-free MOT.
It comes to market fresh from over £4,000 of work including servicing, new battery and fitting reliable electronic ignition. Someone else has put in all the work so that you get a very well-sorted car.
