The Appeal

The Mini may already be legendary - but you could argue it's Innocenti's take on the diminutive classic that captures the car at its best. Italy had a big appetite for compact cars, especially the Anglocentric wares that were being accompanied by the British musical invasion. Innocenti, who were usually occupied building mopeds and scooters, opted to avoid the excruciating import fees and assemble the Mini under licence - with a touch of Italian flair.

The resulting cars are generally agreed to be better built and more comfortably trimmed than their English contemporaries, without losing that charming, down-to-earth character of the original. They remain highly desirable - the cream of the crop for Issignosis's masterpiece.

This particular 1973 car is an impressive example through and through. A matching numbers car, comprehensively restored, this ex-Italian import has been beautifully cared for since arriving on British soil. It's not often these desirable variants of the Mini come to market, and we expect this one will garner plenty of interest.
