The Appeal
Amongst the Porsches and Bentleys assembled beside the sea in Comporta in September 2019 hid a gem that would have appealed to enthusiasts of simpler, more everyday motors.
127 cars totalling over 10m Euros were sold that day. One of them was this immaculate 1973 Mini Mk1 1000. It would surely have shone out then as it does now, an incredibly preserved example of one of motoring’s most humble people carriers.
The vendor acquired it at that sale and has sympathetically improved it ever since, investing in the mechanicals to improve running and reliability. It is a factory-standard, very low mileage timewarp car and as such a fascinating opportunity for collectors.
