The Appeal

A car that that is popular at every corner of the globe, is easy to maintain and cheap to run, their simplicity being a huge part of the appeal, the VW Beetle seemingly never goes out of fashion and continues to enjoy wide appeal among all kinds of drivers. Instantly recognizable and huge fun to own and drive, it’s no wonder they sold more than 21 million units over their 60-year production run. 
This example here looks the business in its two-tone paint work, is presented in great all-round condition and has recently had fair amount of work done to bring it up to the standard we see it in today.

  • All gauges and electrics work

  • Dashboard and trim are free from any cracks or damage 
  • Headlining appears relatively mark free and shows no signs of sagging
  • Door cards in good shape generally, the passenger door pocket has come freely slightly but this should be an easy fix
  • Carpets are all snug with some light wear evident but no rips visible
 

The Exterior

  • Brown and Beige paintwork
  • There are a few scratches and paint cracks dotted around the car but these are minimal 
  • Some paint bubbling evident to nearside of bonnet
  • Stone chip protector 
  • Small crack to front number plate
  • Chrome trim overall pretty good, just a few areas that may need some attention such as rear bumper
  • No dents or dings visible
  • Four good tyres with plenty of tread

The Mechanics

  • 1,584cc petrol engine
  • 4-speed manual gearbox
  • Part restoration by previous owner includes:
  • New clutch
  • Engine stripped, cleaned and inspected
  • New crankshaft oil seals, gaskets etc.
  • New brake cylinders and brake pipes 
  • Wheel bearings removed, greased and reset
  • New electronic ignition
  • Steering rack fitted
  • Wings and bonnet removed and painted, bolts replaced
  • All electrics reported to function correctly
  • The vendor advises that the car is in excellent mechanical shape, starting and driving very well with no major issues to report or advise
